With an insatiable wanderlust and a career in technology, Melanie has cultivated a diverse array of certifications, degrees, and real-world experiences.

Her professional journey began with a degree in Project Management, followed by certifications in SCRUM and PMI PMP, which paved the way for over 20 years of leadership and delivery experience across a spectrum of industries, including healthcare, engineering, professional services, accounting, construction, SaaS, CRM, AI implementations, and cybersecurity. She has perfected an eye for process improvement and out-of-the-box solutions, honed with a mix of startup scrappiness and Fortune 500 finesse.

She holds a bachelor's degree in photography from Arizona State University and ran a successful photography business for over a decade. Her love for photography seamlessly merged with her travel adventures, leading her into the realm of travel photography and destination weddings.

During her career and travels, Melanie also pursued a yoga teacher certification, delving into various yoga lineages, including reiki, hatha, power, and meditation. Her commitment to her practice has taken her to yoga studios around the globe.

Fueling her wanderlust, Melanie embarked on extensive journeys, often spending years on the road, traveling by backpack, pickup truck, and even a tent/Honda Accord coop for a spontaneous, unplanned roaming. As a solo female traveler, she logged countless miles, including volunteering in NGOs in Cambodia, project managing and building animal rescues in Belize, and teaching yoga in Costa Rica.

Melanie's decision to create Mellijay Services stemmed from a pivotal moment in her career when she was advised sternly to “dial down her empathy.” She is eager to offer her clients a unique blend of traditional education and lived experiences.
